🐺1 C. whole wheat flour
🐺3/4 C. bread flour or all-purpose
🐺1 tsp. baking powder
🐺1 egg, whisked
🐺1 C. skyr or Greek yogurt, plain; 0-4%
🐺2 tsp. garlic powder; divided
🐺1 tsp. salt + extra for finishing
🐺2 TB salted butter
🐺1/2 C. shredded cheddar, 2%
Preheat oven to 425. Lightly oil a cast-iron skillet and place it in the oven.

Using a large mixing bowl: whisk together flours, baking powder, salt, + 1 tsp. garlic powder. Make a well in the center of the flour, add the yogurt + egg. Use a Danish dough whisk or large spoon/spatula to gently combine. It will be a thick, slightly stiff dough.
Prep a surface with a light sprinkle of flour. Scrape the dough out of the bowl. Shape into a ball. Knead 5-6 times. Using a rolling pin, roll into a rectangle shape about 12″ or so long. Cut into 3 strips. Pinch together on one end + begin braiding the dough. Pinch together remaining ends. Twist the braid into a swirl/circular shape.
Melt butter + stir in 1 tsp. garlic powder.
Remove the hot skillet from the oven. Place dough directly in the pan, carefully. Brush with half of the garlic butter, sprinkle with sea salt + cheese on top. Return to the middle rack and bake until golden + crusty; anywhere from 20-25 mins. Remove from oven and brush with remaining butter. Enjoy!
